Delete your BellyBuddy account

How to permanently delete your BellyBuddy account and all data stored with it.

BellyBuddy is an app by Marc Lüerssen for iOS and Android. There are two ways to have your account deleted: directly in the App, or by email if you no longer have the App installed.

Option 1: Delete your account in the App

1. Open BellyBuddy and go to “Settings → Account”.
2. Tap Delete account.
3. Retype the three-digit code shown on screen and confirm once more.

The account and all data listed below are deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

You do not need the App for this, and you do not need to reinstall it. Send an email to support@bellybuddy.com with the subject “Delete my account”.

Please write from the email address of the account concerned so that we can identify it; otherwise we will ask you to confirm your identity. We delete the account within 30 days of receiving your request (Art. 12(3) GDPR) and confirm the deletion by email.

What is deleted

Deleting the account irrevocably removes all of the following:

• your login credentials: email address and encrypted password;
• your profile: first and last name, language, country, time zone, gender, date of birth, height, weight, daily nutrition goals, allergens, intolerances and dietary preferences;
• all meal entries, including dish, ingredients and the 13 nutritional values;
• all symptom entries, including intensity and time;
• your saved favourite meals and favourite symptoms;
• your AI assistant conversations and messages;
• the log of your AI requests;
• your support tickets;
• your subscription status (the store keeps its own purchase records);
• all files you uploaded: meal photos, voice notes and support screenshots.

What is kept, and for how long

• Anonymous error reports — 90 days. They contain neither your name nor your email address nor diary content, and are not linked to your account.
• Website server log files — 14 days at most.
• Support emails you sent us — twelve months at most after the matter has been resolved.
• Requests already sent to our AI provider — generally 30 days at most at that provider.
• Encrypted server backups — 30 days at most. A deleted account is never restored from a backup.
